R. Greg Sturgeon


Greg was born in Regina Saskatchewan in 1948, where he completed his elementary and high school, graduating in 1966. Most of his spare time & Holidays were spent on the family farm near Rocanville, Saskatchewan.

He began drafting with the Saskatchewan Power Corporation in 1966 and joined Yoneda & Associates Ltd. in 1969. While Greg was with Yoneda & Associates Ltd., he worked through all facets of the company’s operations and became a Senior Mechanical Technician, working on projects in the residential, commercial, institutional, design-build and operation/maintenance and historic restoration areas.

Greg left the firm in 1979 for the construction industry where he spent nine years at the management level with two major mechanical contracting companies operating throughout the Province. Greg acted as both a manager and a managing partner with direct responsibility for the construction of more than 60 million dollars worth of mechanical contracts over the nine-year period. During his time in the construction industry, Greg served terms as President of the Regina Construction Association and the Mechanical Contractors Association of Saskatchewan and has served on the Boards of the Saskatchewan Bid Depository Inc. and the Board of Trustees for the Sheet Metal workers pension fund.

In 1989 Greg became one of the founding partners of Yoneda & Associates Partnership. In 1993 the firm of McCartan Gaudet & Associates Partnership was started in Saskatoon, Greg acted as the Managing Partner for both Partnerships until the two firms were acquired in 2001 by Stantec Consulting where he acted as the Managing Principal for Buildings Engineering for the Province.

In 2005 Greg left Stantec to become one of the founding Partners of the Mechanical design group, where he acts as Managing Partner.
